PS3 Freezing Fix - Quick Methods To Fix Your Freezing PS3

There are a variety of errors that plague many PS3s that are sold today. This can be a very disappointing thing; you buy a $300 system and then find that in the future it falls victim to some sort of system error. It can be very frustrating dealing with a situation such as this, but there are also quick and easy fixes that can be applied to remedy the problem, such as the PS3 freezing fix.

There are so many PS3s that have fallen victim to these freezing errors. I know how frustrating this type of thing can be to one that has been confronted by it. This problem can put the system into a useless state, as you cannot operate it but for a short period of time before it freezes. There are many ways that this problem can be fixed and I will show you a few of the most basic fixes that can be applied.

PS3 Freezing Fix:

Make sure it is not being affected by heat; place your PS3 in a well-ventilated area where air can easily flow through the system. Your freezing problems can easily come about if the system does not have enough cool air flowing through it, causing temperatures to rise inside the console, resulting in a system freeze.

Make sure all of your cables are firmly in place and that there are not any loose cables. This may seem very simple but it can result in your system freezing.

Shut down your PS3 system and wait five minutes before you power it back on. This will probably not work for most people because the problem is most likely deeper than a simple reboot.

These are the most basic fixes that could be the solution to your problem but in reality the issue is probably not this simple to fix. I understand the feeling of having a PS3 that is in a useless state and how immediate the problem is. If you truly want to determine what exactly the issue is with your current system there are many directions that you can take into finding a solution.

The first option you have, although not preferred, is sending it to Sony for repairs. This is something that should be your last resort due to their asking price being approximately $150-$200 along with a 6 week waiting period. Their asking price for repairs is absolutely ridiculous as it is more than half the price of the system itself.
